Rules that matter
Unbalanced ^XA/^XZ, ^FD without ^FS, fields outside ^PW/^LL, insufficient barcode quiet zone, invalid parameters and accents without ^CI28.
Tells you what the preview hides
Commands the renderer does not draw are reported explicitly, so a preview that looks right for the wrong reason no longer fools you.
Nothing is uploaded
The validator runs in your browser. Your label data never reaches a server, and there is no request limit.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the validator check?
- Structure and layout: unbalanced formats, fields without ^FS, coordinates off the label, bar codes without a quiet zone, invalid parameters, and control characters inside field data. It measures text with the same font metrics the renderer draws with, so a field it calls too wide really is.
- What is the difference between a warning and a note?
- A warning is something wrong — a command that is not ZPL, a field off the label. A note is valid ZPL that this preview does not draw, which is not an error in your label and is linked to the page explaining what it does on a printer.
- Can I jump from a finding to the code?
- Yes. Every finding carries a line and column, and selecting it moves the cursor there in the viewer's editor.
