Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PDF match what the printer prints?
For layout, text and bar codes, closely: the renderer draws at exact dot dimensions with calibrated font metrics. It cannot represent darkness, print speed or media behaviour, because those belong to a physical printer.
My file has several labels. Do I get several pages?
Yes. Each ^XA…^XZ pair becomes one page, in order, and the preview pages through them before you export.
Why does the export warn about a graphic field?
Because a ^GF or ^XG in the file did not decode — usually a compressed payload that was truncated on the way, or a ^XG recalling a graphic that the file never downloaded with ~DG. The field would print empty, so the export says so rather than silently dropping it.
